THE PLYMOUTH PROGRESSIVES DINNER MEETING

Plymouth Room, Kelly's Inn, 2705 Annapolis Lane, Plymouth, MN

Tuesday, July 27, 6:30 p.m. Dinner, 7 p.m. Program

Dane Smith - President, Growth and Justice

What lies ahead for Minnesota with our financial challenges and a new Governor?

Growth & Justice is a leading progressive voice on state economic issues. The non-partisan organization, founded by former Star Tribune Editor Joel Kramer, advocates for fair taxation and "smart" public investment that advances prosperity for all Minnesotans.

daneDane Smith was named as the president of Growth and Justice in 2007 after concluding a 30-year career as a reporter first with the St. Paul Pioneer Press and later with the Star Tribune.  During his time as a reporter, tax fairness and the issues surrounding government's proper role in society were among his favorite issues. Smith is co-author of the book, Professor Wellstone Goes to Washington: The Inside Story of a Grassroots U.S. Senate Campaign.  He grew up in Alaska and is a U.S. Navy veteran.

This month your hosts, Phyllis and Jan, are asking you to vote on the $10 buffet menu:  option 1, variety of Green Mill pizzas and salad;  option 2, spaghetti marinara and fettucine alfredo and salad; or option 3, bruschetta, devilled eggs, and meatballs.  Phyllis and Jan would appreciate hearing from you by July 15, but can take reservations through Monday, July 26.

Mark your calendar!  Invite others and stop first at Green Mill for a cool happy-hour or plan to stay afterwards---it will still be light outside at the end of the forum.
