How to Podcast Caucus and Convention Training Note: The recording started after the session had gotten going and we missed about the first 5-10 min. Also note that once the subcaucusing begins the audio is of little value. I left it in because there were a few questions sprinkled in there. SDConventionTraining.mp3 in Brooklyn Park. Feb 23 2008. Andy of Mayberry on Wiretapping Terrorist sympathizer Andy Griffith rails against Patriot Act This is an example of linking to documents outside of the Aurora site (in this case to Boing Boing). It is no different than linking to one inside. Same syntax, just that the URL simply points to something offsite. Business Democrats Podcasts Too Good to Miss! Ray Krone Podcast The 100th man to be exonerated from death row, Ray Krone tells SD46/Brooklyn Center/Brooklyn Park a gripping and terrifying story of injustice. The certainty of police and prosecutor's judgment blinded them to clearly contradictory evidence including DNA evidence. An intrepid reporter and a curious DNA technician as well as the continuous support of Ray's family and friends eventually resulted in his release and exoneration.
Outstanding Speeches Barak Obama at April's annual Humphrey Day Dinner. This was a very successful fundraising night with over 2000 in attendance at at leat $125 a plate! Russ Feingold has the "cajones" to demand censure of President Bush for illegal wiretapping and power grabbing! From the senate floor. Al Gore's amazing speech Jan 6, 06 You haven't heard this? It should be put on DVD and distributed for free and played before every door knock or phone bank for inspiration. You will wonder what body snatcher crawled into Al's body and took him over. Where was this AL in '00? If every Democratic leader had this much chutzpa we'd win every election. DO NOT MISS THIS SPEECH! Crossfire Follies! Two interesting slices, decades apart, featuring Frank Zappa and John Stewart in this long running CNN talk show. Frank Zappa Defends Free Speech OK, here's something you didn't know about your Uncle Geo: as a musician, I consider Frank Zappa the best rock composer, rock band leader and rock musician of all time (and I'm sorry, but if you do not agree you haven't actually listened to his music). Something you should know about Frank Zappa, desoite his reputation for nasty lyrics and his lifetime ban from radio, he actually never used a signle cuss word in his songs and did not drink or do drugs (though he smoked like fiend.) But many have forgotten Frank Zappa's role in defense of free speech. Interesting story, he and Tipper Gore were on opposite sides of the "rock lyrics hearings" back in the 80s but Tipper and Frank ended up becoming good friends and Tipper actually plays drums on a Dweezil Zappa album. No lie. This Crossfire show blows me away with how well Frank foresaw what has eventually come to pass and with how comparatively mellow Novak was at the time. It is interestingly confrontational but in the more dignified way confrontations used to happen on TV and radio. Understand also that at the time it was close enough to the waning of the counterculture that there had been an ongoing resistance to authority that is evident in both side's behavior. Frank while not the most eloquent guy around and typically a little obtuse holds his own against Novak and his original Crossfire buddies. Here ya go: http://download.ifilm.com/qt/portal/2658805_200.mov Another Crossfire appearance by Frank Special thanks to the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen John Stewart Kills Crossfire The President of CNN actually credited John Stewart when he cancelled the show when he agreed that Crossfire was "hurting America". It's worth it to get cable just for Stewart's Daily Show (and the Colbert Report). Particularly delicious is his comment about Tucker Carlson's apparel.
